Privacy notice
WDCAL app helps dancers find teachers and lessons and communicate with each other. This notice explains the data used by the app. Trone Software provides technical support. For privacy questions and requests, contact info@trone.nl and mention WDCAL.
Information the app uses
- Account information: your name, email address, account ID and sign-in information are used to create, authenticate and manage your account. Passwords are stored as password hashes. If you choose Google or Apple sign-in, those providers supply the account information needed for authentication.
- Profile information: the biography and photos you upload, teacher information and lesson details are used to display your profile and help users discover lessons. Information that you make part of your public profile or lessons is visible to other app users.
- Messages and photos: messages and images you choose to send are processed to deliver chat and are visible to their intended recipients.
- Location: with your permission, the app uses your device location to find nearby teachers and lessons. You can deny location permission and search by city instead. Lesson locations and addresses that you submit are stored with the lesson and shown to other users.
- Device and notification identifiers: device or installation identifiers and push tokens are used to connect your account to chat and deliver notifications. Notification permission can be managed in your device settings.
- Technical information: the servers process connection information such as IP addresses, request timing and error information to operate and protect the service. The app sends limited, fixed error events to detect failures and improve reliability; those reports do not include chat contents, passwords or form contents.
Why information is processed
Information is processed to provide the features you request, manage accounts, deliver messages and notifications, maintain security, respond to support requests and diagnose technical failures. The app does not include advertising or cross-app advertising tracking.
Services used by WDCAL
The app uses hosting, database, map and email infrastructure for its core service. CometChat processes chat, chat-related account information and notification registration. Google Firebase supports mobile app authentication and notification delivery. Apple and Google process information when you use their sign-in or push-notification services. These services process the information needed to provide their features and may operate infrastructure outside your country. Their own privacy notices also explain their processing.
Storage and security
Data is transferred using encrypted connections. Account and content information is retained to provide the service while your account is active and until a verified deletion request is processed. Operational error logs are removed after approximately 24 hours. Messages already delivered to other users can remain in their conversations. Any legally required retention and residual backup retention applicable to your request will be explained by support when handling the request.
Your choices and requests
You can edit your profile, choose whether to upload photos or send messages, deny device location permission and turn off notifications in device settings. To request access, correction or deletion of your personal data, email info@trone.nl from your registered email address. We verify account ownership before making account changes. Never send your password.
You can delete your account from Profile → Delete account in the app, or use our account deletion request instructions without installing or signing in to the app.
